Where do you put all this stuff? I have been blessed to have an amazing closet, custom, built-in, with drawers and space that is wonderfully divided. Unfortunately I can't take it with me when I move to Georgia. Boo hoo! When I do a post on closet organization I might just give you a sneak peak into it. It really is amazing.
I know not everyone has that luxury (although it is money well spent to get it). Still I believe you can get your stuff organized and accessible with some time and effort and the right tools.
So I've taken the time to surf my favorite Internet site - Pinterest - for the most amazing and practical ways for how you can get your "investment" better organized and make your life a little less hectic in the mornings.
Closet too small? Don't know where to begin? That's okay. There's a solution for that.
For starters you need to purge, purge, purge. Not sure what that means - it means clean! clean! clean! Throw out or donate anything you no longer use or need. Old makeup should be thrown out and clothes, purses and shoes and jewelry you no longer use should be donated.
Now we can begin.
The next step is to make an assessment of the new empty space you now have. We'll get into more detail about how to organize your clothes, shoes and everything else in that closet some other time. But for now, just make a space for your makeup.
You don't need a lot of space. You just need to make it work. If you still don't have space in your closet, then maybe you can find a spot in your bedroom.
If you have a nightstand you can use that. If you don't have a nightstand, get one. You can also get a small desk that you can use as a night stand, as long as it is the proper height (same as your bed, not lower, not higher) so that you can maintain balance and proportion.

| 1- Great example of using a desk for a nightstand, but it also has storage so you can store your makeup. |
You can also use this as a great opportunity to create a vanity of sorts by adding a mirror over the desk. This will not only serve as a place for you to do your makeup, but it will also help define it.
Add a lamp, some flowers, some books and cute accessories and you've got a very stylish vanity/nightstand!
Moving on. To help you better organize your new space you need organizational tools. Check out these organizers I found at www.thecontainerstore.com.
These are great for organizing even more than just makeup. You can also use them for jewelry or around the house for just about everything else. You can put them in drawers or you can put them on shelves in your closet.
Here's a great idea for closet makeup organization.
Now remember, this is only the beginning. You don't have to do this all in one day. These things can add up quickly. So it's best to buy a few at a time. Besides, you aren't sure how much you're going to need.
You begin buy buying a few different ones and see how those will work and what you can fit in them. As you go along you'll have a better idea of what else you need.
Here are some more ideas. See which of these you can implement in your space.
So are you ready? I am! I'm writing this post and searching images, and I'm thinking, 'I need to be doing this exact same thing, right now!'
So I'm gonna leave you now and go live what I'm preaching!
Enjoy! Oh, and let me know how it turns out. I'd love to hear - or better yet - see some results.
