Dreamy Dining

It is said that the kitchen is the heart of the home.  So what does that make the dining room?

I think the dining room is the backbone of the home.  It is where we have all those wonderful meals prepared in the heart of the home.  Where families come together and share the highlights of their day.  Where holidays are celebrated, wonderful stories are shared, plans are made and decisions are discussed.  Oftentimes it is where life's daunting tasks are performed - where kids do their homework, bills are paid, and crumbs from dinner are buried into the crevices.

Life seems to evolve from the dining room and spills out into the rest of the home.

If I walked into your home right now, what would your dining room look like?  I'll tell you what's on mine - my laptop, a coffee mug half empty, some books the kids have yet to put away, and the table decorations.  I won't even mention the crumbs from breakfast or the scratches etched by life's daily routines.  It's about as clean as it's going to get.  Soon the kids will be home from school and my dining table will be buried under [more] books, homework, toys and snacks.

Oh what it would be like to have a room to serve just the purpose of its name!

Like many of you I daydream of what my home could look like "if only".....and I'll leave it at that.

I was browsing through one of my favorite websites today and came across a fantastic dining room.  I fell in love and started daydreaming!  And I thought, well, let's have some fun and turn that daydream into reality, virtually at least.

So I've taken some time to seek out those things that could make my dream come true, at least on my computer screen, and this is what I came up with.

Now remember, this is a dream, so don't freak out when you see the price tags on some of these items.
